Comment 1 Søren Sandmann Pedersen 2013-10-06 06:27:01 UTC
Almost certainly a bug in the Intel driver.
Comment 2 Daniel 2013-10-06 10:26:33 UTC
well, that's ugly indeed, but what is the possibility of providing workaround for this bug instead of just marking it as resolved and having users with crashing KDE?
Comment 3 Chris Wilson 2013-10-06 10:47:29 UTC
Did you perchance happen to test?
Comment 4 Daniel 2013-10-06 18:02:03 UTC
Sorry, test what?

This happens when compositing (desktop effects) is enabled. Desktop is fortunately fully usable, when compositing (desktop effects) are turned off in KDE. Otherwise it keeps randomly crashing, segfault sometimes happening from first few seconds after boot up to 40 mins after boot.
Comment 5 Chris Wilson 2013-10-06 18:11:12 UTC
You have a driver built from a recent git checkout, if you test a more recent driver you will find this already fixed.
Comment 6 Daniel 2013-10-06 18:26:31 UTC
Sorry, no. I have official (K)ubuntu repos for graphics, I don't build anything from git or so.
Comment 7 Daniel 2013-10-10 11:33:20 UTC
seems to be fixed after update from official repo in kubuntu.
