Description Brian Beardall 2006-05-25 07:33:29 UTC
When I have drm being initialized I can't load X. Trying to load X causes the
computer to lockup. When DRM is removed X loads, and doesn't lockup the
computer. This is an X800 GTO card. I had the card working in one motherboard,
but not in the current one I am using, nor did it work after updating the bios
on the old motherboard. I can load X, but not with drm. DRM seems to be causing
the X11 driver to not be able to save the screen.

This is the kernel log that shows that drm is loading, but the computer is
locking up when (**) RADEON(0): RADEONSaveScreen(2) is run.

I helped someone else in the past month that seemed to have the same problem on
a different motherboard. The other user didn't file a bug though.

xorg.conf

This is the config file that I used, and the system freezes.
Comment 7 Michel Dänzer 2006-07-02 07:38:53 UTC
Please try current xf86-video-ati git.
Comment 8 Brian Beardall 2006-07-02 08:51:13 UTC
I no longer have the video card. I needed something that would work, and so I
returned the X800, and I got an nvidia Geforce 7600GT that does work. Sorry
about that, I'll close the bug since I can't help.
Comment 9 Brian Beardall 2006-07-02 08:52:19 UTC
I no longer have the card, and can't test.
