The document was previously created in MS Office 2010.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I don't reproduce this.

0xicl33n: do you reproduce this on a brand new file?
Could you attach a sample file so we can try to reproduce this? (since all attachments are public, don't forget to remove confidential/private part).

Im really not sure that i can post any of the information about it:

The docx was given to me from offensive security for the class that im taking from them, i had MS office originally but my trial ran out.

In attempting to recreate the bug myself with saved versions of the same docx file
it seems saving multiple times with libreoffice finally overwrote whatever was making that happen..

I cant say what was causing it, the original file im not sure i am allowed to publish.

Sorry, I forgot to ask these:
- did you install any LO extensions (eg: dictionaries)?
- could you rename your LO directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/UserProfile) and give it a new try?

@0xicl33n
you reported bug against 4.2 alpha which is an unstable release.
did you try using 4.1.3 which is the current stable version?

I see no crash with 4.1.3 release under Win7 64bit
