Libreoffice will just ruin the dates. Case: Spreadsheet document with a certain date column. 1) Value for, say A29, was originally 19.02.2013 when I last time saved. 2) Open the spreadsheet and the date is 18.02.2009 3) Make some modification and save the document 4) Open the document, and the date for A29 is 17.02.2005 5) another iteration and the date will be 16.02.2001 The document is protected with a password. Version of libreoffice (from dpkg -l) is 1:3.5.7-0ubuntu4
Thanks for reporting. Could you please attach a file with the described behavior? I am setting this as NEEDINFO. When you attach the requested file, please set the status from NEEDINFO back to UNCONFIRMED. Thank you and Regards, Ady.
I think you need to set up properly the option in: Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Calculate/Date selecting 01/01/1904. Please see the help for more information. Changed to Resolved NotAbug, if you are not agree please reopen it.

I'm not sure if I did the previous test correctly, but when I tried this with the original spreadsheet the option was not the "01/01/1904". When I corrected the value the problem disappeared. Thanks for the help!
