Disabling EXA makes the issue go away.

The problem only occurs with Flash movies and VMWare... If Google Video doesn't
use Flash then it's with that plugin as well. Also using mplayer in a window
makes it only display black.. if I full screen it then I see the picture.

Again, switching to XAA makes all those issues go away.

Forgot to mention that the issue occurs with or without Composite enabled.

BTW, this is usually referred to as 'corruption', not 'tearing', which refers to
minor intermittent distortions caused by redraws that aren't synchronized with
the display refresh.
