I am writing a rather lengthy book (>450 pages) and recently decided to convert most of my footnotes to endnotes. I managed to accomplish this but, to my dismay, I discovered that the endnotes were out of order. Up to #74 they were fine but after 74 came 270 to 194 (i.e. in reverse order). After that came 130-134 then 154-159 then 242-261 and so on. I'm not even sure that all the endnotes were present. I have tried cutting and pasting one chapter at a time into a new document but the problem persists. However, removing and re-inserting the endnote works most of the time - but not always. At one time I thought that the bug occurred only when an end-note anchor was in a bulleted list but that does not seem to be the case. An extract of the document, showing the out-of-order endnotes, is attached.
Created attachment 90428 [details] An extract from my book showing out-of-sequence endnotes. I added one chapter at a time until the bug showed up. The last chapter added was "Initiations and Siddhis".
Have discovered a work-around: Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > General... For "Update links when loading" select "Always" ("Fields" & "Charts" are selected by default.) Close document Re-open document
