the file causing the problem

Hi!

when rendering the following file or attachment:
http://www.bpb.de/system/files/pdf/V9PCF3.pdf
libpoppler 0.24.0-110.1 shows some strange characters or signs. For example page 3 is affected.

You mean the symbols after Schüler? If not can you please point at the specific part of the screenshot of what is wrong?

yes the sign after schüler (this is not a german character by the way, I don't know the sign)

It's there in Adobe Reader too, so doesn't really seem like a bug in our side and seems more a "this document is broken" thing to me.

Do you have any proof that the document is correct and we're showing it incorrectly?

yes, you are right, the document is broken for some reason. I can confirm that Acrobat Reader has the same issue.
