Description Michael Schaller 2014-01-11 09:37:01 UTC
Hi everyone,

Please register the Cinnamon desktop environment [1] in the spec and update desktop-file-utils so that the name 'Cinnamon' can be used in OnlyShowIn= and NotShowIn=.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Michael Schaller

Patch to add Cinnamon as a registered desktop

Supplying patch, if it will help.

Thanks

It needs to be registered first, that's why I assigned the bug to Ryan in the specifications.

Can someone please give an update on this bug?

I feel pretty left in the dark why there has been no movement on this bug in 10 weeks... Am I under the naive impression that it should be easy/quick to register a widely used desktop environment with freedesktop.org? If there is some process I'm unaware off and that I'm not following, then please link me to the documentation. Thanks.

Vincent, is there someone else who can update the specification?
I don't want to blame Ryan but this bug seems stuck...

patch for menu-spec.xml

We all have very busy lives, with too many things to handle...

Here's a suggested patch for menu-spec.xml. Please review (does order matter?).

I can push it then.
Comment 9 Michael Schaller 2014-03-23 15:59:01 UTC
David, thank you for taking this on.

I already figured that you're all busy but really all I was asking was some kind of a reply... So "were short on hands; please don't expect a change this quarter" would have been totally acceptable for me. ;-)

Back to the patch. The menu-spec.xml file seems to be in large parts unordered and the patch contains everything we need. So LGTM from my side. ^^
