Description Denis Lisov 2014-01-14 10:59:28 UTC
Hardware: MSI GE60 0NC laptop
Software: pulseaudio 4.0 on Gentoo Linux

Actual results

Plugging in headphones does not result in all speakers being muted.
There are separate Speaker and Bass Speaker elements in 'alsamixer -c0', but only Speaker is muted and sound is still produced outside the headphones. Muting Bass Speaker from alsamixer stops this unwanted sound.

Expected results

When headphones are plugged in and PulseAudio switches to them, all speakers should be muted.

It seems that "Bass Speaker" is only touched by the speakers path. Other paths should mute it, but they just completely ignore it.

I sent a patch to the mailing list: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.audio.pulseaudio.general/19444
