First of all, this isn't a duplicate of bug #5190. The best way to explain this issue is to explain my setup: I have two cards, the main one is a Matrox G400 (AGP) with 2 monitors, the second one is a RIVA TNT (PCI) with one monitor. This exact configuration worked just fine with X 6.8 but isn't working with X 7.1: there is no image on the monitor connected to the RIVA TNT card. I can confirm that X recognizes the third monitor, I can even move a window to it but it's completely blank. I use both mga and nv open drivers which worked just fine on X 6.8. Please advise for any extra info necessary as I don't want to fill the bug with irrelevant logs. Looking at Xorg.0.log the only thing that captures my attention is: (II) NV(1): Initializing int10 (II) Attempted to read BIOS 64KB from /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:0a.0/rom: got 32KB
My previous test was with nv driver version 1.1.2. Now I tested version 1.2.0 which I believe is the newest one. I got the same results. Well, from my point of view the upgrade from X 6.8 to X 7.1 made things worse: my setup worked just fine and now it doesn't. Is there anything I can do to help fix this issue?
Rodrigo, if you're still here, please review bug #9920 ... it appears you're suffering the same problem.
(In reply to comment #2) > if you're still here, please review bug #9920 ... it appears you're suffering > the same problem. Yeah, mine problem might be the same mentioned in bug #9920. Can't confirm as there is no fix for bug #9920 yet. Or there is?
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
xf86-video-nv has been officially unmaintained for a bit now, and we are closing all -nv bugs. If your problem was not addressed, and -nv is still broken, please try xf86-video-nouveau. Thank you.
