Is there some report I can generate that will give you a definitive answer?
Seeing this as a bug introduced by the autohinter, I'm closing this as NOTOURBUG.
Mass move of freetype bugs to the new freetype product
Reopen the NOTOURBUG reports now they're correctly affected
The bug report is far too general. In case there's still a problem he or she should test with a recent FreeType version.
