Description Elliot Cooper 2014-02-12 04:32:14 UTC
distro: Archlinux
ststemd version: 208-10
Kernel: 3.12.9-1-ARCH i686

When I boot my laptop with the wireless disabled via the keyboard switch the following line is printed to the journalctl log:

Feb 11 22:02:11 Elliot kernel: iwl3945 0000:0c:00.0: Radio disabled by HW RF Kill switch

This is a problem because it was printing the line 1106 times per second and running one core of my laptop to 100%.

The same behaviour is not reproduced once he machine is running. The wireless can be toggled of an on without any problems. This only happens when the machine is booted with the wireless disabled.

If you need any more information please let me know. I hope this helps.

This looks like a kernel bug where they are spamming kmsg with this message. Please file a bug on the kernel bugzilla against the iwl3945 driver.
