Description Tom 2014-02-24 19:18:51 UTC
Since the recent release, Page numbers in Writer no longer work properly.

They should work in this numbering way: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Instead, they work like this: 1, 1, 2, 3, 4 (whatever number is placed in the header on the first page repeats in the header on the second page)

Could you provide the document to reproduce the bug you're encountering. I can not reproduce with Version: 4.2.1.1
Build ID: d7dbbd7842e6a58b0f521599204e827654e1fb8b
Set as Needinfo - Sophie
Comment 2 Tom 2014-02-26 12:46:45 UTC
I think that what happened was I opened a file that had been formatted in
the previous version, prior to 4.2.1.1 and the formatting carried over.
When I opened a blank file in the newest version and just copied the text
over things worked fine.

Thanks for your attention to this.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Still I can not reproduce. I close the bug as worksforme. If it happens again, please reopen, provide a sample file and and a step by step description. Sophie

Actually, even though I thought it was resolved, it isn't.

I will attach a document. You will note that the numbering of 6 pages goes
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3

personal document

Note the page numbers. The document is 6 pages, so they should number consecutively. Instead they number 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3

Hi, you didn't tell it was a docx, but thanks for the document. However, it opens just fine for me, pages are numbered correctly 1 to 6.
Version Version: 4.2.1.1
Build ID: d7dbbd7842e6a58b0f521599204e827654e1fb8b Ubuntu 13.10 x86.
may be a Windows only issue - Sophie
Comment 7 Tom 2014-02-26 17:37:31 UTC
That's weird. Oh well. You can't fix what you can't see, I suppose.

I'm not the one who will fix it, I'm part of the QA team who qualifies the bugs. So somebody else from the team, having a Windows system will be able to reproduce it, don't worry :) Please, don't reply through your mail client because it adds a lot of unnecessary comments, thanks! Sophie

Never confirmed by QA team - moving to UNCONFIRMED for evaluation. Thanks!

If a second QA team member is unable to confirm I say close as WFM unless we get additional info to help us confirm. Thanks again!

It's not a Windows issue either. With heavy heart I will close this as WORKSFORME.

Tested on Win 7 64-bit 4.3.4.1 and Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha2+
