crash dump

I have a lenovo w520, somethings happens a gpu freeze for some second

[22718.418826] [drm] stuck on render ring
[22718.418829] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card1/error
[22718.418830] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[22718.418831] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[22718.418832] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[22718.418832] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.

kernel:
Linux elinux 3.13-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.13.4-1 (2014-02-22) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I use kde, and patches mesa according to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70706

I had freezes also using xorg 1.14 and without those patches

It happens almost always when switching task (with kwin composer effect)

This is likely fixed in recent stable releases of mesa. Please try updating your libGL and report what version you have (paste the output of glxinfo).

oh I forgot to say mesa version:
9.2.2-1

it's not easy to use 10, experimental has 10.0.2-1
but I suppose I'll screw all the system without really having a good way to reproduce the problem

You say it's fixed, I even suspect an hardware problem on my laptop (it happened also on window), so I think you can safely closed the bug for now
Comment 3 Kenneth Graunke 2014-02-27 18:12:14 UTC
Mesa 9.2.3 has a number of critical fixes for GPU hangs on Sandybridge. You'll need to upgrade to at least that. 10.x has a few additional fixes.

If you still have problems with those releases, feel free to reopen.
