When I use GPU acceleration on Flash on Firefox, the gpu resets itself frequently. From journald:

kernel: [drm] stuck on bsd ring
kernel: [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
kernel: [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
kernel: [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
kernel: [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
kernel: [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
kernel: [drm:i915_set_reset_status] *ERROR* bsd ring hung inside bo (0x6a5e000 ctx 0) at 0x6a5e450

I am currently using Arch Linux (64-bit) with the following components:

- Linux kernel 3.13.5-1
- mesa 10.0.3-1
- intel-dri 10.0.3-1
- xf86-video-intel 2.99.910-1
- Xorg server 1.15.0-5

Sorry for slow response. Are you using libvdpau-va-gl to get hardware accelerated flash?
Comment 4 kostas213 2015-12-04 22:47:23 UTC
Yes, I had been using libvdpau-va-gl back then. For the last months I had Flash disabled. I will enable it back with GPU acceleration (I still use the same laptop) and I'll report back.
Comment 5 kostas213 2016-01-09 16:01:07 UTC
I have enabled Flash for the last month, and so far, this problem has not resurfaced, everything seems normal.
