Bugzilla does not show filenames for attachments on the view screen (though I see that now on the edit screen), and recorded the type of attachment as "text/plain" (which should have been input you provided in the form). I've changed that now to application/gzip Either way, bugzilla only really deals well with patches as plain text, and gzipping them just increases the pain and decreases the odds anyone will do anything with them.
