Description Luca Viggiani 2014-04-10 11:46:43 UTC
After upgrading to linux 3.14 x86_64 on ArchLinux, using either the fn keys or the slider provided by gnome shell will not change the display brigthness on my Dell XPS 13 (L322X model) with Intel IvyBridge integrated vido card.

However, after executing the following command, the display brightness adjustments (nf key, slider menu etc) starts working again:

su -c "echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness"

Booting with "video.use_native_backlight=1" boot paramenter, causes a weird behaviour:
Using the fn keys it now actually changes the display brigthness, however after that display brightness starts "bouncing" from 100% to value set by fn keys...
It will stop bouncing after issuing su -c "echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness"
