libva-wayland1 1.3.1-1 won't download from the knoppix synapitic package manager. A pop up says to fix the broken packages (as usual unspecified) first. I have used various methods to find any supposed broken packages but none turn up and I'm able to download and install other programs with no problem. This is happening on either of two laptops I used using a USB permanence-installation of microKnoppix 7.2. I've contacted the Knoppix developer about various bugs, not sure about this one, but he's mostly not replying anyways, claiming to be too busy and not getting much sleep. If the problem is not on your end, please contact him to see what might be the problem for a fix asap.
"Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Klaus Knopper" at knopper@knopper.net is the knoppix developer.
Why do you think this could be a Wayland upstream problem? You didn't say anything that would imply an upstream problem, or anything that this could even be fixed upstream. Sounds like this problem is specific to Knoppix' packaging or package manager, or your installation of Knoppix, and should therefore be discussed on Knoppix forums/bugzilla/whatever. We cannot fix what sounds like a problem in Knoppix(?) package repositories if it is really about downloading a built package specifically. If you want support here, you can circumvent any distribution problems by building all the problematic projects manually from git or release tarballs, and filing a bug report with the exact build or runtime logs showing the problem and whatever else is needed to show the problem. Therefore I have to close this bug as not our bug. We do not maintain Knoppix in this bugzilla.
