This often occurs with flash player, and always when calling the Mathematica function Plot3D. I have attatched gratuitous system information.

kaveri is supported by the radeonsi driver, not r600. Make sure you don't have the VDPAU_DRIVER=r600 set as an env var. You don't need to set that env var. The correct driver will automatically loaded automatically.
Graphics are happy, but not there appears to be a new problem -- my ethernet port went down as a result. The reason you are reading this is because I have a backup card. I'm going to reboot and see if this persists. If so, who/where might I go who has the expertise to look at this?

There's likely a small bug in that I needed to reboot to reset devicemapping, but all seems well now. I'm marking the bug as fixed. Thanks for your poignant observation.
