Description Eric Streit 2006-08-24 04:12:59 UTC
When starting gnome ( after logging in gdm), X crashes several times (from 1 to
5 times) before launching the desktop. This only if I put the panels
transparent. When I choose the vesa driver, no crash. With kde (even with
transparency) no crash.

With xfree shipped with debian sarge, no crash.

y machine is a Compaq/HP laptop nx7010 (ati 9200 mobility)

I can send you the logs if desired.

Could this be bug 6827?
Comment 3 Timo Jyrinki 2007-02-22 13:44:14 UTC
Eric, do you still see this with eg. X.org 7.2? I see from the log you were using X.org 7.0 earlier, among else.
Comment 4 Daniel Stone 2007-02-27 01:33:19 UTC
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
Comment 5 Alex Deucher 2007-11-12 15:20:32 UTC
Is this still an issue with a more recent xserver (1.3 or 1.4) and a recent version of the ati driver?

Bugzilla Upgrade Mass Bug Change

NEEDSINFO state was removed in Bugzilla 3.x, reopening any bugs previously listed as NEEDSINFO.
