I created a footnote choosing the * character. I entered text for the footnote with a space preceding it. Once the document was saved and re-opened, an unwanted line space and tab indent had been added in front of the footnote text. Sometimes I got multiple line spaces added. I found that when saving the document in .odt format, I did not get this problem.

It appears that each time the file is saved and then re-opened, an addition line space is added in front of the footnote text. The problem of extra new lines being inserted can be reproduced in 4.3.4.1, but it is fixed in 4.5 alpha (4.4 beta can't be installed in parallel to 4.5, so can't test on it). Closing as WFM.
