Description Dark Shadow 2006-09-12 17:09:21 UTC
I'm running MergedFB using two monitors on my radeon. One monitor (CRT) is fine,
but I've got a strange problem with the other (flatscreen): It seems like the
contrast is too high, so that I cannot see very light shades of grey. Very light
grey areas/pictures are either barely readable or white, so I cannot see them.
Example: the light grey voting arrows on the site: http://reddit.com.

It's not a problem with the monitor's settings. When I lower the
contrast/brightness levels, it doesn't get better, except when I use the xgamma
tool to set gamma to 0.7. But of course, this lowers the gamma for the second
monitor too which is not desired and it doesn't even help in all cases. And it
is no solution because I would have to set contrast and brightness so low that
reading becomes impossible. In Windows, everything is fine.

When I move the browser window to the second monitor, it is displayed as it
should be. What can I do to solve this?

Btw: I'd like to set the gamma values for both screens independently (the CRT is
usually too dark by design, so I'd like to set it to a higher value). Is there
any way to do this?

I'll attach my xorg.conf and xorg log file immediately.

Xorg configuration file

The monitor which causes the trouble is `Gericom'.
