Since Version 4.3.x LO crashes if you start a line with (123)(456)(789) ab It doesn't make any difference if you use () or [] or {}. If you write letters into the brackets everything is fine, just one letter in one of the brackets is enough. If the brackets are empty or filled with numbers or hyphens or spaces LO will crash when you write the second letter behind the third pair of brackets. Very curious. I only discovered this bug because I opened an old file (written with LO 4.2.4.2) with a corresponding sequence of brackets, numbers and letters. All components (LO-Writer, LO-Calc, LO-Draw etc.) are affected. I use Debian testing (Jessie).
I can't reproduce with Win7, have you tried resetting the user profile?, sometimes solves strange issues. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
(In reply to comment #1) > I can't reproduce with Win7, have you tried resetting the user profile?, > sometimes solves strange issues. > https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile It's a new installation and if I downgrade back to version 4.2.4.2 using the existing profile everything is fine again.
Reproducible with OpenSuse 13 Version: 4.3.0.1 Build ID: 9ed0c4329cf13f882dab0ee8b9ecd7b05e4aafbb
On pc Debian x86-64, here are the results I had: With LO 4.0.3.4 Debian package, I could reproduce the crash. With 4.3 sources updated 4 days ago, I don't reproduce the crash. For the test, could you give a try with 4.3 daily build (see http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-4-3/Win-x86@42/current/) or more simply with 4.3.1RC1 (see http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/)?
With LO Pre-Release Version: 4.3.1.1 Build ID: c4b15cd4d00dec6b266fa830b4ba73e31ae6ce73 I get the same crash even with a new user profile.
jumu130@gmx.de: sorry to hear this :-( So, if you've got some time, the last chance could be the daily build (see my previous comment). Of course, it's just for the test since I don't expect you keep this beta version.
With Version 4.3.2.0.0+ Build ID: b2d54aa61607e477cb4b81f1a70e555ee3adb0af TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-4-3 Time: 2014-08-20_23:12:37 the bug is gone, no crashes anymore. Thanks for your help.
Thank you for your feedback. Let's put this one to WFM (by precising the targets).
