Description Perry Tsai 2014-08-28 08:16:35 UTC
SPICE Client: Virt-viewer v5.6 under Windows 7 or 8
SPICE Server : RHEV 3.3
Guest OS : Windows 7sp1 (2cores/2GB)
VLC player : v 2.1.3

Procedure:
 1. Connect WIndows 7 Guest OS with remote-viewer SPICE client.
 2. Play a 1080P media file by VLC player with fullscreen mode which's set as 1280x1024 resolution, the color is fuzzy.(720P&480P video is ok)
 3. Play a 720P media file by VLC player with fullscreen mode setting as 1024x768 resolution, the color is fuzzy.(480p is ok)
 4. The color would be more fuzzy with smaller screen. CentOS or Ubuntu thin-client with virt-viewer v5.6-2 have the same issue.

PS: Windows media player 12 in guest OS -> no color distort issue, but always not sync with audio.

Could you provide screenshots of the issue?

Is this related to video streaming (try with qemu streaming-video=off)

thanks

You can refer to attached snapshot:
attachment 108504 [details] -> Fuzzy color with shrinking screen of vlc player.
attachment 108505 [details] -> normal color with original screen of vlc player.
PS:
VMware Horizon-View & Microsoft RDP on the same Guest-OS Windows 7 :
-> No fuzzy-color issue whatever shrinking screen of vlc with 1080P video.

And we also find each video would appear this color-distorted issue while shrinking the resolution which smaller than original video quality.

Could you confirm if this only happens with VLC?
