when I hover over a user in IRC in xchat-gnome, the popup that appears with their detailed information flickers in and out of existence rapidly, it doesn't stick on the screen as it should.

Does this still happen?

Could be gtk+ or mutter as well, doesn't really look like an Xwayland issue.
