Problem description: I have a linux configuration file (named.conf) with 16000 lines of short texts. When I try to open the file with calc, it hangs and consumes cpu. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have a text file with 16000 lines of text. 2. Right click file, select open with Libreoffice Calc. Current behavior: Calc hangs and begans to consume cpu. Expected behavior: Opening the file normally with a text filter. Operating System: Windows XP Version: 4.3.2.2 release
I created a textfile with 16000 lines, and have no problem opening this file in Calc. I'm running Windows7 Can you give a more detaild explanation on what you consider 'short texts'? Maybe some (10 lines) examples? What is the size of the file?
This happens on xp, I just tried the same file on different pc with windows 7 , it opened very fast. 2 seconds. I waited on xp , and it opened as well but taking 67 seconds. The xp pc cpu is AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core TK-55 1.80 I also see that until the text filter dialog box comes, it takes all processing power of one core. The file has zone and domain definitions, it is in ansi , unix format. It is 972 KB (995613 bytes) Each line has approx 64 characters a few more or less.
Try deleting (or renaming) your user profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
I deleted the profile and it worked , what is causing this?
The answer was deleted during deletion of you old profile.... But if your problem is solved, you should change the status of this bug
Due to comment #4 set status to WorksForMe because we don't know which commit fixed the problem. Best regards. JBF
