Description Philip Langdale 2006-10-04 23:21:07 UTC
One of the nice touches in many other window managers is making middle and right
clicks on the maximise button do a horizontal or vertical maximisation.

I will attach a patch to gtk-window-decorator to do this.

Is metacity doing this? If not, I think we want to make it optional.
Comment 3 Philip Langdale 2006-10-12 22:20:14 UTC
No, metacity doesn't do it. I can understand why you might want an option but it
seems of rather dubious value. middle and right click don't do anything
reasonable in metacity anyway (ie: they don't maximise the window - they act as
if you'd clicked on the title bar away from the button).
Comment 4 David Reveman 2006-10-13 07:15:52 UTC
I understand and it might make sense to have this functionality enabled by
default. I can't say why it would do any harm in having it always like this but
I know that decisions about what to include and not in metacity has been very
carefully considered and unless I'm very convinced that metacity got it wrong
I'd like to make sure that metacity's behavior can be used.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

This is fixed in head since commit dcacd007944206c115bdd649bce7a51738971cdf
