Image slanting may be performed by accident after double clicking on an image border (red selection marker) and a small move with left mouse button pressed on an image border. Because very little slanting values (0.01 degree) corrupts the image display it is not possible to correct the problem with the mouse. Reseting has to be done through the mentioned menu entry.

not reproducible under Win7x64 using LibO 4.1.5.2 and 4.3.2.2

you are reporting a bug using a very old LibO version (4.1.6.2) which is obsolete.
hundreds of bugs have been fixed meanwhile so you are strongly encouraged to upgrade.

please retest with up-to-date LibO release and tell if bug persists.
if still present (it may be Linux specific) please upload a test Impress slide with a picture where you replicate the slanting bug.

I set status to NEEDINFO waiting for feedback

The bug do not happens with 4.3.2.2.

Unfortunally 4.1.6.2 is currently the stable release on opensuse
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=LibreOffice%3AStable&package=libreoffice, so adding the related patch to the opensuse stable version build might be a good idea.

Searching for 'slant' in libO master repo http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=grep&q=slant do not return any hint for the related patch.

Any further hints available for finding the related patch ?

We don’t update end-of-life releases, and generally don’t recommend downstream distributors to patch these releases. It’s simply much easier to ship a newer version.

For the record: libreoffice 4.2.6.2 on opensuse 13.1 x86_64 does not show this bug.
