persisting. 100% reproducible here.
Comment 5 steve 2014-10-28 17:02:26 UTC
4.3.3.1 is still pre-release. it's RC1
Comment 6 steve 2014-10-28 17:17:58 UTC
Maybe Java related? 1.8 is installed and 1.6 is not installed on my 10.10 system.
Comment 7 Stephan Bergmann 2014-10-29 10:19:44 UTC
Note that from attachment 108539 [details] it looks like the reporter is using a 32-bit LO build (advertised as "Mac OS X (Intel)" on libreoffice.org), not a 64-bit one (advertised as "Mac OS X (x86_64 10.8 or newer required)").
Comment 8 Alex Thurgood 2014-10-29 10:27:53 UTC
I have confirmation from someone else using 64bit version that it doesn't crash.
Changing title

Hi Steve,
Can you reproduce using a 64bit build? AFAIK, we should be encouraging the use of 64bit builds for everyone on 10.8+, but I believe that we'll still offer 32bit builds as the default until 4.4 comes out (at which point we'll only offer 64bit builds!)

Persisting with 4.3.3.2. 64 bit mac here. Not sure how to check if 4.3.3.2 download is 32-bit.

Shouldn't the LO download page detect I'm using a 64-bit mac?

"Not sure how to check if 4.3.3.2 download is 32-bit."

One way is to use Terminal, cd to the directory where you installed LibreOffice.app to (/Applications, probably), and do

  file LibreOffice.app/Contents/MacOS/soffice

and report back its output.

more info: I made sure I was using 64 bit release. Retried and it crashes just the same.

Now works. Not sure what happened here. WORKSFORME
