I'm running the latest rbdoom3bfs on a uptodate Debian Jessie + latest xf86-video-intel driver from git, on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2014. In the intro, the screen froze shortly and flickered a bit an returned to "normal" a few seconds later. The sound wasent affected much. Dump attached.

At first glance, looks to be a mesa issue.
Today I have been trying to reproduce this bug. My system has a Intel Haswell (HD Graphics 4600) and ubuntu utopic. I also tried running Debian Jessie on a chroot. I also needed to build rbdoom3bfg from git master, as I didn't find available .debs for utopic. In both cases, with system mesa and git master mesa, I didn't have any problem. So although my environment is somewhat different to the one described at comment 0, as ~9 months has passed since the bug was reported, could you confirm that the bug is still present on your system?
Setting as NEEDINFO. As mentioned on comment 6, it works fine on my environment. Asked reporter to confirm if the bug is still present.
problem has disappeared over time it seems. sorry for late response :-(
