Description rbpriv 2014-11-04 08:34:18 UTC
In Fedora 20, rpm version systemd-208-25.fc20.x86_64 (and previous), the login screen hangs if user types password (investigation is going on if it is enough to type anything else) before selecting the user. Up to now the bug was replicated in every version. Still investigating it better.

"hangs"? what do you mean by that?

what do you refer to as "login" screen? gdm? getty?

What makes you think this has anything to do with logind?

I am pretty sure logind is not involved with querying the user for username or password. It's not even involved with authentication. It only sets up the user environment in the end. And if that fails it is ignored due to the PAM configuration. Hence, please file this as bug against your DM in your distro's bug tracker.
