kernel oops photo

Since debian testing kernel update from 3.16.2 to 3.16.5 (also reproduced with 3.16.7), I sometimes (~3/4) get a crash few seconds after lightdm launch.

It seems to be a reproduction of that (bisected) fedora bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1158061

Hardware name: Sony Corporation VPCZ12L9E/VAIO, BIOS R3031C3 10/04/2011
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT216M [GeForce GT 330M] (rev a2)

thanks.

Could you please retry with kernel version 3.19 (or later) as there was some fixes related to fences and pci_ignore_hotplug that were merged?
Comment 2 Etienne Z. 2015-04-10 12:45:38 UTC
Yes, sorry for the lack of follow-up. This has been fixed by a debian kernel update somewhere in february.

Looking at the changelog, my guess would be by this commit:
    - nouveau: move the hotplug ignore to correct place. (regression in 3.16.4)

Merci
