There has been XVideo capability for the Matrox Millennium II (mga2164w) cards for some time (at least since XFree 4.2.x times). Author's page: http://penguintown.net/~gorlik/millennium.html AFAIK there has been no patch submitted to xorg up till now. The patch applies cleanly to my X11R6.7.0 tree - the only file affected is mga_video.c. kiwi mga # patch mga_video.c < ~dan/xf420_mga_video-rc1.diff patching file mga_video.c Hunk #2 succeeded at 78 (offset -4 lines). Hunk #3 succeeded at 84 (offset -4 lines). Hunk #4 succeeded at 1291 (offset -4 lines). If there are not any major issues, can we go ahead and get this merged into the main tree?

Also, one would note the major issues he lists, like "extreme (probably beyond 8X) horizontal downscaling will crash the X server" *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 681 ***
