4.3.5 general release Request for Enhancement: Would our intrepid heroes please consider adding the revision number into the splash screen when Open Office start up? Many thanks, -T
What is the purpose of displaying a long string of numbers for a fraction of second?
(In reply to Urmas from comment #1) > What is the purpose of displaying a long string of numbers for a fraction of > second? The splash screen takes about four seconds the first its loads (Linux). After that LO is in cache and takes about 1-1/2 seconds to load. There is ample time for me to see the revision number. Please do not add any additional delays. It takes long enough to load as it is. Have you thought of forking the splash screen while the rest of LO loads? That would give all my extra (i7) cores something to do and not slow down the main program load. Run and die after two seconds would be great. -T I am running a SAS 600 Raid 1 array with hot spare
Won’t be done. We are actually looking forward to not needing a splash screen anymore.

Hi Adolfo, I have to say, I do like the idea of no splash screen at all even better than my idea. How about moving the revision to the middle of the top decoration on the welcome screen (first screen) next to the "LibreOffice"? Many thanks, -T
There is already the About dialog.
