Regression: No. I tried 2014 Q3 release commit 62de88e8e65811010deac5375f8f0d8b14dc4d94 and saw the same issue.

I tested with b2776bf7149bddd1f4161f14f79520f17fc1d71d Find out this issue will only occurs when ACER HS244HQ was connected.ViewSonic VS14703 and ASUS PA238Q will work fine.
Which modes fail? Do those modes work if you specifiy them manually with testdisplay?
Tried on ASUS PA238Q on drm-intel-testing-2015-03-27 and it worked fine. Since ACER HS244HQ is not available now, I'd prefer to close this bug.
