dmesg

==System Environment==
--------------------------
BIOS version 0.49
Regression: No. I tried -next-queued 2014_08_11 commit fdd508a6419217cce28213f3c9bd27c02a0d4c71 and still saw this issue.

Non-working platforms: BSW

==kernel==
--------------------------
-nightly: 4fa23142a15526f4a4b5df61f26eacdd558a849a(fails)
-queued: 140fd38dc4962ae3694f81900b51c567df1b6d33(test fails in the same way)
-fixes: b0616c5306b342ceca07044dbc4f917d95c4f825(test fails, and none display shows any text. Bug 87253 covers that issue)

==Bug detailed description==
-----------------------------
Boot BSW with DP and HDMI connected, when login appears on DP display, only DP screen shows text. the eDP screen and HDMI screen does not show anything.

During boot, eDP screen has some text showed, but finally eDP screen is black.

==Reproduce steps==
----------------------------
1. Connect DP and HDMI displays to BSW and boot BSW
2. When login appears on DP display, the eDP and HDMI screens do not show anything
3. Running xinit shows xterm on DP display, but eDP and HDMI screen still do not show anything.

Tried on latest -nightly commit cbb440bf6e71044410db1645991fe89b3f57894f with BIOS version 0.51.3 and still saw this issue.

With the new BIOS, DP screen will be black for ~2 seconds, and show text for inconsistent time (1 second ~ 1 minute).

The issue disappears when disabling dynamic memory self refresh in the BIOS

Ville, this smells like something that needs a HSD.

Ville should QA be trying the series you posted to the list?

Tried on drm-intel-testing-2015-02-27 + attachment 113995 [details] [review] and this issue still exists.
Comment 9 Jeff Zheng 2015-03-13 02:27:30 UTC
After upgrading BIOS to v59, this issue does not exist on following ocnfiguration:

Kernel: 4.0.0-rc3_drm-intel-nightly_a2f9de_20150313
BIOS: V59
DP monitor: ASUS PA238Q
HDMI monitor: ASUS VS239HR

Close this bug.

Both 'dynamic memory self refresh' and 'DDR DVFS' are enabled.
