Created attachment 112291 [details] dmesg log Monitor turns off and the computer is not. Only helps power off or reset. Linux 3.17.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Dec 7 23:43:32 UTC 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux Radeon 7850 2GB
It's a little unclear what's happening. Are you saying the when playing back certain videos the display goes off? If so, you are probably seeing a GPU lockup.
I put the video on pause and try to enter the computer to sleep (not hibernate) - then the monitor turns off and the computer is not(only helps power off or reset). If I close the player, or it does not use vdpau then everything is fine.
I can't reproduce this issue. I'm using a self compiled kernel from linus's git and graphical stuff too (mesa, ddx, xorg, drm). I've played a video on mpv, using vdpau as hwdec, and it goes to sleep and I can resume it without any issue. I've checked dmesg and I can't see any warning or error.
I switched to the core of 3.18 and sleep is working correctly.
