When attempting to create an OpenGL framebuffer with the RGBA16 format, this error is returned by glGetError.

RAM: 16GB DDR3
GPU: nVidia GTX 970M (6GB VRAM)
OS: Ubuntu 14.10

I'm quite certain, that nouveau does not support the 9xx series for now, except modesettings and the "gen7_update_renderbuffer_surface" points to an error with the intel driver. You have an so called optimus/prime system with two cards, intel and nvidia. Please sort out which card you are actually using.

Are you able to test with 10.4.4 stable release or 10.5 branch?
