Created attachment 112441 [details] 1-page slide with broken formula Opened impress file and double clicked on equation but formula editor did not appear. Impress appears to think it is a picture? Example page attached. This was created with impress more than 1 year ago, was recently edited & saved, now broken. Similar problem now appears for 150 page course notes with many equations.
upgraded but problem remains Version: 4.4.0.2 Build ID: a3603970151a6ae2596acd62b70112f4d376b990 Locale: en_US

Q's: - What version of LO did you use to create these files? - Do you have an old backup of one of these files? - Were they always ODP files? Status -> NEEDINFO (Please change status back to UNCONFIRMED after you answer the questions. Thanks!)
Thanks for the quick response. 1) Document was originally created in OpenOffice many years ago and subsequently changed on a yearly basis. Switched to using LibreOffice when it became available. Format has always been ODP. 2) I found a backup from last year that works. Full document is ~4MBytes. All pages seem to have the same problem with figures, so just attaching corresponding "good" page. Entire file is available if needed. Let me know if there is anything else I can do
Problem solved: at some point I must have tried "Tools > Presentation Minimizer" and accepted the defaults for step 4. *This creates static replacement graphics for all OLE objects.* Formulae are OLE objects, so all were replaced with figures. Having this default is arguably sub-optimal, as the images are actually larger than the original equations. Regardless, LO did exactly what I asked it to. Sorry for the noise.
