I have 10.1" LCD with 1024x600 resolution teorically but my VGA mode is on 1024x567, could be this the issue but i'm not sure.

Many elongated (vertically) windows (preference windows of some applications) aren't not showed properly because bottom side is drawn outside screen.

I have tried with few DEs and it happen in all of them, because i suspect that DE is not guilty of this issue.

[ 0.933836] [drm:parse_lfp_panel_data] Found panel mode in BIOS VBT tables:
[ 0.933849] [drm:drm_mode_debug_printmodeline] Modeline 0:"1024x576" 0 42200 1024 1072 1104 1184 576 579 584 593 0x8 0xa

That means the BIOS is really telling us its a 1024x576 panel, not a 1024x600 panel. So either there are two models of the machine with different sized panels or the advertisement hasn't been entirely truthful for this machine.

Nothing we can do to change that. But you can of course go for the the xrandr tricks to add a custom 1024x600 (or whatever) mode. It'll be downscaled so not best quality wise, but at least you can fir a bit more on the screen. I might imagine this is what Windows could be doing if it pretends to have a 1024x600 display.

Also you can try to reduce font size and whatnot in your desktop environment settings to make stuff a bit smaller and so fit more of it on screen.

your suggestion about changing font size does not work. Could be an issue directly related with each application? ...

Add a new mode to xrandr could be dangerous? ... and .. really it'll solve my problem? or only it'll downscale whole image?

For instance ... Mate's menu manager is fit in screen but i should show always over all windows.

I think that the issue is caused by the fact that i am using 1024x576 when all applications are programmed to 1024x600 ... How might fit windows on my screen using xrandr?

Or should i contact with each of developers of each application to explain the situation?

If at least could resize vertically of these windows ... but it's locked ... some applications recognize properly this resolution! ... :S

Thanks for ur time :)
