I have recently installed Fedora 21 x86_64 and when KDE starts the mouse pointer appears to be constantly redrawn producing an effect like the old(?) Windows setting for mouse pointers called "tails". This makes KDE VERY difficult to use.
Created attachment 113582 [details] X-server log file Hi, I don't see anything significant in this file but then, I'm NOT a developer. Your help is definitely needed. Thanks, George...
Hi, Could I get a status on this bug please? Do you need more info? Thanks, George...
Xorg log is in journal on f21, what graphics card is this?
Dave, Thanks for your response. I don't have the manual but from web searches on N53SN-RH71 I seem to find this info. Graphics Controller Model: GeForce GT 550M I'm somewhat surprised that this info isn't in any of the logs though. This info is in the dmesg command output: 867 [ 2.643100] i915 0000:00:02.0: irq 31 for MSI/MSI-X 868 [ 2.643111] [drm] Supports vblank timestamp caching Rev 2 (21.10.2013). 869 [ 2.643115] [drm] Driver supports precise vblank timestamp query. 870 [ 2.651267] ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0: failed to evaluate _DSM (0x300b) 871 [ 2.651274] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20140926/nsargu 871 ments-95) 872 [ 2.651433] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20140926/nsargu 872 ments-95) 873 [ 2.651741] pci 0000:01:00.0: optimus capabilities: enabled, status dynamic power, 874 [ 2.651746] VGA switcheroo: detected Optimus DSM method \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0 handle 875 [ 2.651786] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: enabling device (0004 -> 0007) 876 [ 2.651876] vgaarb: device changed decodes: PCI:0000:00:02.0,olddecodes=io+mem,decodes=none:owns=io+mem 877 [ 2.671166] ACPI: Video Device [GFX0] (multi-head: yes rom: yes post: no) 878 [ 2.672633] acpi device:03: registered as cooling_device8 879 [ 2.672740] input: Video Bus as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A08:00/device:00/LNXVIDEO:00/input/input12 880 [ 2.683447] ACPI: Video Device [GFX0] (multi-head: yes rom: no post: no) 881 [ 2.684398] acpi device:47: registered as cooling_device9 882 [ 2.684668] input: Video Bus as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A08:00/LNXVIDEO:01/input/input13 883 [ 2.684735] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20140905 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0 884 [ 2.684961] nouveau [ DEVICE][0000:01:00.0] BOOT0 : 0x0c1b00a1 885 [ 2.684966] nouveau [ DEVICE][0000:01:00.0] Chipset: GF108 (NVC1) 886 [ 2.684969] nouveau [ DEVICE][0000:01:00.0] Family : NVC0 887 [ 2.684995] nouveau [ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] checking PRAMIN for image... 888 [ 2.685002] nouveau [ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] ... signature not found 889 [ 2.685004] nouveau [ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] checking PROM for image... 890 [ 2.688539] nouveau [ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] ... signature not found 891 [ 2.688543] nouveau [ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] checking ACPI for image... 892 [ 2.717981] usb 4-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=2109, idProduct=3431

I'm running Fedora 30 now and haven't seen this bug in over 3 1/2 years. Something magical happened apparently. It could just be closed due to lack of developer interest. George...
