Hi, I use telegram-purple[0], which changed the directory of its authentication data from ~/.telegram-purple to ~/.purple/telegram-purple. Since then Empathy asks me on each login to authenticate myself using SMS messages [1]. The reason seems to be that telepathy-haze stores data created by libpurple in a temporary directory, which results in loosing the authentication data [2]. Greetings [0] https://github.com/majn/telegram-purple [1] https://github.com/majn/telegram-purple/issues/72#issuecomment-91796000 [2] http://cgit.freedesktop.org/telepathy/telepathy-haze/tree/src/main.c?id=322a01893db6a4379ee558362245fcedb4342df5#n170
After some further discussion with the telegram-purple developer I close this again. He says it is a bug on his side and he wants to work on it.
