Make sure your CSR firmware gets loaded properly.
As per dmesg, there is a problem in loading the CSR firmware. This error is coming in both SKL-MBL and SKL-DT. [ 19.784831] [drm:skl_set_power_well [i915]] *ERROR* CSR firmware not ready (2) How to rectify this? Vijay
Get the firmware from https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads and place it in your /lib/firmware or similar.
Meanwhile the volume of WARNs is ridiculous. I presume there was at least a "please install firmware" message to the user during boot?
(In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #4) > Meanwhile the volume of WARNs is ridiculous. Agreed; I was thinking of leaving the bug open about that even if the firmware solves the issue...
Tracking internally.
