According to http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-latest.html#recognized-keys "NotShownIn" is a valid key, however when trying to validate that contains it, desktop-file-validate errors:

  file contains key "NotShownIn" in group "Desktop Entry", but keys extending 
  the format should start with "X-"

Please find an example desktop file attached. The same used to validate fine with earlier versions of desktop-file-utils.

It's NotShowIn, not NotShownIn :-)
