Description kendell clark 2015-09-04 09:52:39 UTC
The daisy format is an xml based book format with tags similar to epub. The specifications are available at, http://www.daisy.org/publishers. There are two versions of the format. Daisy 2.02, which uses html and smil, and daisy 3.0, technically called ansi/niso z39.86-2005, which uses xml, html and smil.

just pinging this bug. I've tried to add the a11y or accessibility keywords but those don't seem to exist in this bz instance This is an important bug to be fixed, though not critical

I'm stumped. I'm not sure how to create an xml file that's unique to daisy 3 since epub contains some of the same tags. I'm going to have to go on the book structure. Epub books are structured differently than daisy books. Epub books have hard coded file names, such as contents.opf, meta.xml, whereas daisy books aren't hard coded. Would this work? Is anyone willing to help?

I had a hard time finding any information actually defining the file. Also, we usually only add mime-types when a patch is provided as per the HACKING file.

And finally, we need something to be able to consume the mime-type. Are there any available viewers for Linux and/or X11? What about example files?
