lspci -v

I've got an Intel(R) Iris(TM) Pro Graphics 5200 ( in a Macbook ), and I'm running a 4.1.5 *vanilla* kernel, libdrm-2.4.64 and mesa-11.0.0.

I get occasional hangs in X, lasting for about 5 seconds each, where the display stops updating ( other than the mouse ). Everything else appears to continue - eg music continues to play, input continues to be accepted.

These hangs occur in pairs, eg hang => working ==> hang ==> working, and these pairs occur maybe once every 4 hours or so.

I had previously been using an RT kernel, but have moved back to a vanilla kernel to test this issue ( which does occur in the vanilla version ).

Comment 2 Dan Kasak 2015-09-15 04:49:57 UTC
The dmesg output ( attached ) was taken *immediately* after such a pair of hangs ...
Comment 3 Mika Kuoppala 2015-09-23 11:35:39 UTC
After a hang do:

'cat /sys/class/drm/card0/error'

If there is one:

'cat /sys/class/drm/card0/error | bzip2 >error_state.bz2'

And attach to this bug. Thanks

Thanks for the response. 'cat /sys/class/drm/card0/error' gives:

no error state collected

I assume then that this problem is *not* in the driver, and probably in Enlightenment.

I'm happy for you to close this bug.
