Created attachment 118457 [details] dmesg with drm.debug=0x1e System architecture: x86_64 Kernel version: 4.1.6-alt460-amd64 Linux distribution: SystemRescueCd 4.6.0 (based on Gentoo Linux) Machine: Acer TravelMate B116-M-P16S Processor: Intel Pentium N3700 Display: Internal LCD (connected using eDP-1 according to /sys/class/drm/) When the KMS driver loads I no longer see any output on the laptop screen (backlight remains on). Output via HDMI works. The kernel log shows a warning about a timeout including back trace (see attached dmesg output with debug info). The internal display only works if I add i915.modeset=0 to the boot options or if I boot an older kernel that doesn't use KMS. The problem is reproducible with other kernel versions/distributions (e.g. Lubuntu 15.04 (Kernel 3.19.0)).
Problem solved with kernel >=4.2.0.
