Created attachment 119226 [details] dmesg dump So this new iteration of Intel SKL21-SDS (21SL6SWIQ) is buggy compared to the old one (21SL4SWIB), in that current nightly has some weird display flicker issues, but only when typing on a terminal and a few seconds afterwards. running Ubuntu 15.10 with mesa 11.0.4, git ddx. also, 4.3 boots to a blank screen on this, and drm-intel-next-fixes-2015-10-22 doesn't boot at all
actually this issue is a regression in -nightly, dinf-2015-10-22 works fine but the driver is stalled for 60s when it can't find the GuC firmware..
*** Bug 92641 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
hmm, I don't think that other bug is a dupe of this, since this is a kernel regression, not mesa..
turns out I can get this with 4.3-rc7 too after a S3 cycle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8MubVrhFd8 so it's just a bug waiting to be fixed
The Skylake support has been improved significantly since the bug was last changed. Closing. Please reopen if the problem persists with current drm-intel-nightly branch of http://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-intel

I'm presuming that's pre-production hardware and you really shouldn't be using it anymore anyway...
