When i start X i get a black screen and my PC is completely hardlocked. No ssh or anything else. If i disable dri in xorg.conf, it works, if i enable it i get (II) Module glx: vendor="X.Org Foundation" compiled for 7.1.99.903, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 0.3 (**) AIGLX enabled (II) Loading extension GLX (II) LoadModule: "dri" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libdri.so (II) Module dri: vendor="X.Org Foundation" compiled for 7.1.99.903, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 0.3 (II) Loading extension XFree86-DRI in my Xorg.0.log. Then the lockup occurs. It makes no difference which driver i use. My Kernel is 2.6.16-mm2. 7.1.1 works without any Problems. Every other Versions aren't working (7.2Git, 7.2.9Git, 7.2RC3) Greetz Oli

Try looking at the X server's stdout and stderr output.
Bug persists in 7.2 Final. Not a unresolved symbol. Libdrm Version is 2.3.0. Hardlocks with propetiary fglrx the same as with open source Mesa implementation. Hangs at loading extension XFree86-DRI.
