I have a PDF that does not render the text from this PDF properly. It appears properly when just viewing the PDF.

Command that I ran:

pdftoppm -jpeg file.pdf > /tmp/out.jpg

Works fine here, which versions of poppler and freetype do you use?
Comment 5 Patrick O'Lone 2016-02-10 14:15:49 UTC
Using poppler 0.39.0 on CentOS 5.11. Freetype version is 2.2.1-32.el5_9.1. I also have the poppler 0.4.7 data package. Compile options are:

--enable-zlib
--enable-libcurl
--enable-shared
--disable-static
--enable-xpdf-headers
--disable-poppler-glib
--disable-dependency-tracking
--enable-libopenjpeg=none
Comment 6 Albert Astals Cid 2016-02-10 22:04:08 UTC
--enable-zlib is mostly evil, try without it
Comment 7 Patrick O'Lone 2016-02-12 23:46:25 UTC
I upgraded to 0.40.0 and remove --enable-zlib. Same outcome.
Comment 8 Patrick O'Lone 2016-03-07 19:43:56 UTC
Any other ideas on what I could try? It doesn't make any sense why it would work for someone else unless this is related to fonts or some missing library? Is there something I might need to pass for character encoding?
